If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea”

Antoine de Saint-Exupery

This famous quote from Le Petit Prince reflects Makia Kalas’ impact on Things that Matters. It is our strong belief that all people have talents, are capable, are craftsmen, and have seen a glimpse or even have a picture of the shared desire and are excited about the journey.

Exploring Things that Matters is the most inspirational and motivating part of our work. Together we create and deliver a common ground and a voice to the shared desire, which is by definition beyond strategy.

The most challenging is to create a longing for the sea. It is the unknown of the future and the known of the past. We have to love that sea to get where we want. It is an endeavour where we can make a difference.

Together we will design an ambitious journey, living the shared desire. The core of our work is about aesthetics, which comes along with ethics and science. It is about caring and daring. It is about (re)discovering the beauty of our eco-systems and the reason why stakeholders want to be part of or even contribute to that shared desire.

In this atmosphere; ideas, perspectives, and ways to love the journey will be created and designed. Followed by applicable deliverables. An intense way of working with an enormous drive and great satisfaction.

Everyone deserves its own freedom to focus.
